Avec cette discrétion qui sied aux meilleurs, Big Thief poursuit paisiblement son bout de chemin, et confirme sortie après sortie sa place bien haute dans le panthéon de l'indie rock moderne - et l'année dernière la paire U.F.O.F. / Two Hands a normalement dû convaincre les derniers sceptiques.
Bloqué à la maison au lieu d'être en tournée, le groupe vient en aide au personnel qui l'accompagne habituellement en tournée en sortant un EP de cinq titres composé de démos enregistrées en 2018, et qui allaient servir de base à U.F.O.F. / Two Hands.
Cinq titres qui n'apparaissent pas sur les albums du groupe pour la plupart, et dont deux d'entre eux ont terminé leur trajectoire sur l'album solo de la chanteuse Adrianne Lenker. Un extrait est en écoute sur Bandcamp, mais il vous faudra mettre la main au portefeuille pour entendre le reste.
"We spent the month of February 2018 in a cabin in Topanga Canyon, California, recording 34 demos that were boiled down to become UFOF and Two Hands, and we're bringing a handful into light now to share with everyone. We chose 5 of our favorites - none of which appear on any Big Thief records and a couple of which appear in different forms on Adrianne's abysskiss. 100% of the funds we receive from this release will go to our faithful road crew, whose income has been impacted by the disruption in our touring schedule. They are the lifeblood of the Big Thief shows and we care so deeply for each and every one of them."
